Recensione Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 (1987 version) Usato
the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 (1987 version) lens was one of the most successful products created between 1987 and 1990 by the Japanese brand. Since this is a fairly dated model, it does not have image stabilization and focusing occurs via an AF motor not equipped with ultrasound. However, this should not lead one to think that it is a model characterized by lower performance.
The entire lens is made of a metal alloy which ensures the product's solidity and at the same time makes it very light; furthermore the use of plastics is very reduced. As for performance, although it was created as a standard lens, on APS-C format cameras it ensures functionality like a true portrait lens.
The autofocus is not particularly fast but manages to do its job quite well especially in optimal light conditions, while performance is significantly penalized where there is low light. The limit of this lens is represented by the blurring which involves some graining.
Ultimately, it is fair to point out that the defects that have just been listed must be seen above all in light of the low price and the fact that it is a fairly dated model. Ideal for use on APS-C format cameras and which will allow you to take shots of remarkable quality where a normal zoom would not allow it.
