The Leica Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH (2016) is a high-performance wide-angle lens suitable for FF and APSC cameras. Production stopped in 2016 and it is therefore easy to find it on the market. Focusing occurs only manually via a practical ring on the lens; image stabilization is not present. The minimum focusing distance is 70 centimetres, on average compared to all lenses with similar characteristics, the lens hood is supplied. The shooting angle is not pure wide angle (75 degrees) but it still manages to do its job. It is a raw and pure lens, without supports and without any kind of help. The low weight, as well as the dimensions, make it practical and easy to use even for long sessions. The images are of a unique clarity and the presence of defects is almost completely absent. The colors are vibrant and faithfully rendered. It has an excellent depth of field which makes images even more realistic, even the bokeh effect is not to be underestimated, it manages to be a versatile lens and suitable for various genres such as nature photos, portraiture or architecture.

The cost when new is relatively high but, considering that it has been out of production for a few years, there is the possibility of purchasing it used at a reduced price.
