Recensione Samyang 12mm f/2 NCS CS Usato
The Samyang 12 F2 NCS CS is a wide-angle lens suitable only for APSC format cameras produced since 2014. Focusing is manual only and there is no image stabilization. The basic characteristic of every wide-angle lens is the field opening and for this model it is 100.4 degrees, which makes it quite extreme, the minimum focusing distance is 20 centimeters, optimal for being able to get closer to the portrayed subject. The lens hood is incorporated and cannot be removed but this does not create any inconvenience during use. Weight and size are smaller than average and this can be considered another positive factor. The materials are resistant but the final workmanship of the product is slightly bare and spartan. The images taken are very sharp and with vivid colours, there are slight distortions (normal for a 12mm focal length) and chromatic aberrations but all easily removable in PP; you may have a flare effect that could be annoying. The use of the focus ring turns out to be not very fluid and imprecise, especially when it comes to infinity.
The Samyang 12 F2 NCS CS is a lens that adapts well to all genres, but where it manages to express all its potential is in landscape photography. It can be used independently by both professionals and amateurs and does not require particular technical knowledge. The cost when new is easily accessible but there is always the possibility of finding it used or on offer, thus obtaining a significant saving.
