Recensione Samyang 85mm T/1.5 ED AS UMC Usato
The Samyang 85mm T/1.5 ED AS UMC is a cinema lens produced since 2013, it is suitable for FF and APSC cameras, there are 2 versions: one for Nikon and one for Canon. Focus is manual only and there is no image stabilization. The shooting angle is just over 84 degrees and the minimum focusing distance is 25 centimetres. The lens hood is supplied, weight and dimensions are average and make it practical and easy to handle, furthermore the materials are of excellent quality and give it resistance and durability. The images and videos produced with this lens are very sharp even at room temperature, there is a slight flare on the edges which could lead to some aberration. The distortion is manageable in PP but does not appear to be excessive. The dials are not very silent, this could annoy those who use it to shoot videos; there are threads for follow focus, necessary to follow the subjects during video shooting. It has a good depth of field and a soft and not too strong blur effect.
The Samyang 85mm T/1.5 ED AS UMC is a lens suitable for both photographers and video makers, it does not require particular technical skills (just do a little practice) and can be used by both professionals and amateurs. Being very versatile, it can be effective in many genres, from portraiture to landscape. The cost is average compared to competitors in the same category and those who want to save money can look for it used, thus managing to obtain a significant financial saving.
