Recensione Tamron AF 11-18mm f/4.5-5.6 SP Di II LD Usato
When we talk about the Tamron AF 11-18mm f/4.5-5.6 SP Di II LD we are referring to a wide-angle lens ideal for APS-C format cameras. Even if it is a discontinued product, in fact made in the period between 2010 and 2015, it remains a decidedly valid accessory and which bases focusing on a non-ultrasonic lens AF motor and without image stabilization.
Made with a particular metal alloy, it is the lightest lens in the entire category, weighing just over 350 grams. The construction of the lens is obtained from 15 lenses divided into 12 different groups, among which an LD (Low Dispersion) and a HID (High Dispersion) element are identified. The opening of the lens occurs through the presence of 7 blades which allow you to adjust the minimum distance up to 0.25 m.
The performance of this product can be considered satisfactory overall with an image quality that is not penalized at all. Only perhaps at the minimum focal distance of 11 mm is it possible to notice a slight loss of sharpness along the edges. For the rest, you get sharp shots characterized by a particularly lively range of colours. Both the zoom and focus ring operate in a very smooth but slightly subdued mode; the AF motor it has allows you to quickly get images in focus even if it is slightly noisy. Overall, the relationship between the quality of the images obtained and the cost incurred is excellent.
