Recensione Tokina AT-X Pro 12-24mm f/4 DX II Usato
The Tokina AT-X Pro 12-24mm f/4 DX II is a wide angle lens produced from 2010 to 2015, it is currently out of production and finding it new could be difficult. It is only suitable for ASPC format cameras, the focus is automatic, it takes place via a non-ultrasonic AF motor, and there is also no image stabilization. It is a very wide angle, the shooting angle varies based on the focal length: at 12mm it is 100.4 degrees while it drops to 61.9 degrees with a 24mm focal length. The minimum focusing distance is 30 centimeters and the lens hood is supplied. Weight and dimensions are average, making it practical and comfortable to use in all circumstances. The workmanship is of good quality, it is resistant and solid. The images are characterized by good sharpness already at room temperature, the color rendering is excellent. Distortions, almost omnipresent in wide-angle lenses, are easily manageable in PP and do not cause serious problems; the same goes for any aberrations. Flare and vignetting are unfortunately present and could cause some concern at the end of each shot.
The Tokina AT-X Pro 12-24mm f/4 DX II is a lens suitable for photography in all circumstances, it is not suitable for professional use only because it is not compatible with FF. It can be a valid support for any photographic genre, but it is in landscape and architecture that it manages to express itself best. The cost when new should not be taken into consideration, however it is more than possible to find it for sale used, in this way it can be obtained with a considerable saving compared to the list price.
